President Trump and allies see tariffs as a means to revitalize America's industry. But opponents, including economists and national leaders, argue that Trump's tariffs will be a net loss for all trade partners. Ana Swanson of the New York Times covers this perspective in this recent article. The APMA's President, Flavio Volpe offered his insights “One million cars in Canada a year are made by American manufacturers with 50 percent American parts and 55 percent of American raw materials and he’s ready to push them off a cliff to make a point no one understands."
