APMA President Flavio Volpe said Canada’s auto sector is underperforming largely due to U.S. tariffs and trade tensions, stressing the industry has been deeply integrated across North America for more than a century. He warned that tariffing auto parts could disrupt production continent-wide, with about half of Canada’s $35 billion in annual parts output shipped to U.S. assembly plants.
