The federal government is set to release a new auto strategy focused on boosting Canadian-built vehicles, improving market access, and accelerating EV adoption. APMA President Flavio Volpe emphasized the need for balanced policy, noting that “incentives are important because today the current regime is to mandate the production side of it and to punish producers who don’t achieve a certain percentage. If you’re not addressing the demand side of it, then you’re missing the point.”
