Canadians want affordable cars built at home, survey suggests

The survey suggests affordability concerns are top of mind as trade tensions, tariffs and uncertainty in the North American auto sector weigh on consumer confidence, with a review of the Canada–U.S.–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) set for next year. Right now the uncertainty is being felt on the factory floor. APMA President Flavio Volpe said that workers “are anxious because of what the White House is saying and doing and because we bet heavily on electrification and the Americans are moving away from it.”
