APMA is pleased to support the launch of a BDC financing program for automotive parts suppliers.   APMA has been instrumental in the creation of this program and believes it will greatly assist automotive parts suppliers in the current economic climate.  APMA acknowledges the support of BDC and the Government of Canada in the establishment of this program.

BDC's Purchase Order (PO) Financing is a flexible financing solution specifically developed for Canada's auto parts manufacturers. It provides the working capital your business needs to fill orders.

Loans between $250,000 and $5,000,000 can cover up to 80% of material costs and 100% of direct labour costs.

BDC's PO Financing can help you by providing the short-term working capital needed to fund production. It enables you to purchase inventory and cover labour costs relating to purchase orders from creditworthy clients.

Operational Effectiveness in Manufacaturing (OEMP)

In today's hyper competitive environment, the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association (APMA) is offering a program to help companies achieve operational effectiveness.  This Program is administered by APMA, delivered by industry experts at Operations Expertise Inc., and subsidized by the Government of Ontario.

 OEMP is a multi-phase program that will:

• Assess the supplier organization's operational effectiveness and benchmark them against domestic and foreign counterparts.
• Provide the suppliers with the foundation for a more intensive improvement plan, based on the operating philosophies of the Japanese manufacturers.
• Offer a significant opportunity for Ontario suppliers to achieve compliance with the New Domestic OEM's expectations.

APMA Market Intelligence Program (AMIP)

The APMA Market Intelligence Program (AMIP) is aimed at improving the competitiveness of Canadian automotive suppliers by providing a low cost, high benefit, business planning solution. The AMIP initiative will be powered by market intelligence databases and software of AutomotiveCompass Ltd.

AutomotiveCompass Ltd. has been selected as the provider of the AMIP market intelligence solution, combining automotive databases and proven business planning software, designed specifically for automotive suppliers and will improve access to critical market intelligence information and best practice planning tools and processes.

AMIP will help Canadian automotive suppliers improve the productivity of their planning efforts.  The AMIP innovation combines accelerating the planning and information access and analysis process, improving member support services and lowering member costs.

APMA Energy Efficiency Project

APMA and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) are working together to help members reduce their energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. Most APMA members should save at least 5% to 7% of their energy costs with minimal expense through this program. Benefits include:
